On April 12 I'm scheduled for anterior cervical decompression and fusion. As nervous as I am about the surgery, I'm actually looking forward to it. I've been in pain for close to two months now, and recently it has become almost unbearable, so I'm glad relief is coming soon. Although I've felt worse pain before (for example, I once had stitches in my head without anesthesia, which kinda' stung), this is the first (and hopefully last) time I've experienced chronic pain, and it really consumes your life.
It will be a few weeks before I'll fully return to work, but I should be able to handle light typing within a few days. In the meantime, I plan to recover by eating several buckets of ice cream and finally watching every DVD I've ordered from Amazon.com but never had time to watch :)
Ouch! Good luck with the surgery, I wish you a speedy recovery.

At least you're in a good area for surgeons! Otherwise I'd tell you to come down I-65 a bit and go to UAB.
Get well soon.

Good Luck with the Surgery Nick. After you finish those DVD's from Amazon, a venture over to Netflix might do you right as well :-) Take care.

Good luck, Nick. I had both my hands operated on for carpal tunnel over the past year; scary for a musician who makes a living using a computer keyboard, but worth it. Enjoy the painkillers while thay last -- but not TOO much!

I know how frustrating back pain can be. I've been having bad back pain for a few years now (from a car accident and a fall). I'm currently hoping physio sessions will help me get through the winter.
I hope the surgery goes well and you have fun watching the DVD's. :)

Nick, I've been using your products from the days of Homesite 2.0 and I look forward to your future programs. Here's hoping all goes well and you feel much better.
From a guy recovering 5+ months from a torn tendon in my right arm, my heart goes out to you. Enjoy the time off with your family.
