We never saw these on TV, but recently discovered the DVD at our public library and immediately fell in love with it. Definitely one for the family collection!
I have to agree with this being one of the best series ever made. Well, at least as far as I can remember. The quality is not always that good, but if classic stories are told with so much love and feeling there's not much that can beat it. I know it's too late to make anyone jealous, but it has been out here in europe for well over a year now. :-)

I'm not sure if my kids are old enough for these shows yet, but I'm looking forward to watching with them some day!
It's a shame, though, that such a brilliant show gets such a lousy DVD treatment. The picture quality is sub-par, IMO.

ah, thought maybe you were a Monk fan... it's first season came out this week too. Ok, I wouldn't class it as best show ever, but it is good.
